Dear Mr. Thomson:

I am writing to apply for the Assistant Product Manager position at ABC Corporation which was advertised in the September 8th Edition of the Milwaukee Post. I am extremely interested in this position. I am aware that XYZ Corporation is new to the athletic apparel industry and has quickly established a quality reputation along with rapid growth in the Midwest.

I am a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing. I feel that my academic training has provided me with a solid foundation in marketing, business administration and computer technology.

As Assistant Manager for an appliance store, I gained experience in the areas of marketing development, implementation, and evaluation. I was responsible for analyzing and evaluating marketing trends for future product promotions and assisted the store manager with the development and implementation of a direct mail promotion for the store's annual "Summer Blowout Sale". The event resulted in over $100,000 in storewide sales. That position required strong computer, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

In addition to my marketing expertise, I can bring to this position well-developed oral and written communication skills. These skills were demonstrated through my frequent verbal and written communications with the local media for advertisement of store promotions. I also possess excellent interpersonal skills honed by my six years of customer service experience and from leadership positions with the UWM Student Marketing Society.

I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you to discuss the Assistant Product Manager position and my future with ABC Corporation. I am available for an interview and can be reached at (414) 552-3746. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,
